## Billing FAQ

### What does one credit buy?

One word of the text you check. A 500-word email costs 500 credits, and every check costs at least 20 credits, so any text of up to 20 words costs 20. The cost is shown before you start.

### Why is there a minimum per check?

Every check sends the full proofreading rules to the model and returns a list of fixes, however short the text. The 20-credit minimum covers that; from 20 words up, you pay 1 credit per word.

### Do new accounts get free credits?

No. Signing up is free, but new accounts start with no credits; every check uses purchased credits from a pack or a plan.

### Do unused credits expire?

Purchased and subscription credits stay on your balance while your account is open.

### Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, at any time from your account page. The plan stays active until the end of the paid period.

### Do I get credits back if a check fails?

Yes. Failed and cancelled checks are refunded to your balance automatically.
